Melantha's Window
By: Kitri Posted on: July 15, 2010
This poem was written while meditating at the window inside of the Lady
Melantha's temple. I am calling it, "Melantha's Window"
Melantha's Window
I sit in an illuminated cave...
And contemplate the seasons
The walls are rock and the floor is stone
There is only one exit
The scent of a lush living world outside...
drifts in through a rough fissure in the rock
In this cavern of cold stone I am drawn to vivid hues...
Of stained glass, and flickering torchlight behind a window
Lady Demeter!!
Celani of Gaia!!
You served the Great Mother...
And attended her distress
Queen of the grove!!
Gave of your essence
That the forests would live...
And your sleep would be deep
Would they remember...
How you saved the natural world?
Or would they remember...
A great Wyrm of the worlds?
Tis true our Green Lady...
Possesed by a demon, sickened
Demeter, lost and banished!!
Forests burned, and the Wyrm, a Lord!
The Awen, the faithful!!
The shrines of Demeter!
The spell of the Wyrm...
Terible and destructive!
Matsuhama and Mhaldor
Was it hate and blame that moved you?
With acts against Demeter!
The nemesis Wyrm, thrown down in her stead!
Remember, oh History!!
Demeter's first empowered act upon her return!
To give vision for a ritual...
That she return to slay, and conquer!!
Demeter the Victor!!
Overcame the Demon Wyrm!!
Oh history remember!
The Dawn of Melantha!!
