Below are the details of the various policies that have been agreed to by the Chroniclers.
Capitalisation
- If it's capitalised in Achaea, capitalise it in the wiki. If it's not capitalised in Achaea, don't capitalise it in the wiki. Don't capitalise adventurer, newbie, denizen, or other general groupings.
- For example: "Asara is an Adventurer" should be "Asara is an adventurer."
- Do capitalise certain immortal pronouns. These include those that refer to the Pentad, the Pantheon, the Elder Gods, and Demigods. These do NOT include the Administration, Celani, Aldar, Guides, or Lord Clementius.
- Do capitalise all race names, both adventurer and denizen, when referring to them as a group or as a singular noun. Do NOT capitalise these terms when used in the adjective form. The only exception to these rules are humans whose references should be lowercase in all instances (except at the start of a sentence.)
- For example: "Asara is a member of the Mingruk community" or "Asara is a Tsol'aa" or "Asara is dwarven" or "Asara is a human."
- Do capitalise all racial languages, both adventurer and denizen. For example: "Asara speaks Dwarven." vs. "Asara is dwarven."
- Do not capitalise all words in an article title that has more than one word unless it is a proper noun or it is capitalised in Achaea.
- For example: "Toady Bellhops" should be "Toady bellhops" both in the article title and in the article itself.
- Do capitalise the words "House" and "Guild" when refering to those organisations that transitioned from Guilds to Houses. A "house" uncapitalised refers to things such as player subdivision housing or denizen houses (i.e. regular residential houses).
- Do capitalise skill names as they are proper nouns.
- For example: "I have the Metamorphosis skill."
Categorisation
- To avoid excessive categorisation, only categorise articles with the "lowest common denominator" category.
- For example, when you categorize Maya, you don't have to use Pentad, then Immortals. Just use Pentad. Similarly, when we categorised humans, we didn't put adventurer races, ethnic groups, and then society! We just put adventurer races. The "lowest common denominator" category is already included in the higher categories.
Bolding
- All names and proper titles should be bolded the first time they appear on their page.
- For example, Rurin, the Crafter should look like Rurin, the Crafter.
Denizen Articles
- In order to create an article for a denizen, there must be an actual living interactive NPC. Being mentioned in text, in room descriptions or by other methods, would not qualify. It would be fine to place these individual in a larger article, such as a city article, instead. Also consider other categories such as the Historical Figures category.
Infoboxes
- Do not italicize infobox information unless using "None" or "Unknown". If the information going in this box is "None" or "Unknown", leave the space alone as the appropriate entry will be added automatically to tell readers this.
Linking
- Only link to pages that are related to what's being linked.
- For example, don't link the word "tattoos" in the sentence, "He has cool rainbow tattoos." A more appropriate link for "tattoos" would be, "Salai sells inks for tattoos" because what you're linking to actually refers to the Tattoos skill.
Merging
- Articles and categories with the same name should be merged.
- For example, an "Arenas" article should be deleted and the contents moved appropriately to become the body of Category:Arenas.
