Hidden Archer's Alcove

The Hidden Archer's Alcove is the hidden archery shop of Ashtan. Shrouded in darkness, shadows blanket its polished desks and bow cases like a black velvet blanket. Weapons of death and defence lie half unseen in mahogany displays, seeming to whisper of the power of those who would master the art of archery. The shop is maintained by the black-bearded Mordyn Darkwhisker.

Maplewood darkbow - 4000gp

The distinctive twists and curves of this darkbow have been expertly carved and fashioned from the wood of a maple tree. A light stain has been applied to the pale-hued maple, and a tightly wrapped strip of brown leather around the centre of the bow serves as a grip. Holding the elegant contour of the bow in place, a taut bowstring awaits the hand of an archer.

Arrow - 5gp

With a tip of hardened steel and a long wooden shaft, this arrow has fletching of feather and cat-gut. Crafted for flight and accuracy, this would be a deadly weapon in the hands of a skilled archer

Wooden longbow - 800gp

Cut from the finest yew, the longbow is clearly the result of the labours of a skilled craftsman. You admire the finely polished wood's strength and smoothness as you test it in your hands to feel out its weight and balance. Strung with a tough line of gut, this bow could indeed be a powerful and deadly weapon in the hands of an accomplished archer.

Crossbow - 1100gp

Constructed of a varnished wooden stock with an iron bow crossing it at right angles, this sturdy crossbow weighs heavy in your hands. Raising it up to examine the slightly archaic design, you sense that despite its apparent unwieldiness it might propel arrows with considerable power.

Alligator skin quiver - 300gp

Exotic alligator skin has been adeptly fashioned into this voluminous quiver. Dull grey-green in colour, the unevenly scaled reptilian hide has a unique texture, smooth in places, rough elsewhere and mottled with bumps and small protrusions. A stiff alligator leather strap allows the quiver to be firmly secured over one shoulder.

Red leather shoulder scabbard - 350gp

Fashioned from the same striking red leather worn by the War Witches of Ashtan, this well-crafted scabbard follows a simple design. A sturdy wooden interior has space enough for a single sword. Decorative leather braids wreath the scabbard near its mouth. Numerous buckles and straps at either end indicate the scabbard should be worn across the back.

Scabbard embellished with a gold eagle - 500gp

Wood grain is faintly visible beneath the many layers of black lacquer coating this scabbard, sturdily reinforcing and granting a smooth, seamless texture to the sword sheath. Formed from several tiny, perfectly placed rivulets of gold, the decorative embellishment of an airborne eagle appears near the mouth of one side of the scabbard, wings unfurled and talons outstretched.

Black leather side scabbard - 350gp

Strips of coal-black leather tightly coil around and around this simple wooden scabbard, fashioned to snugly accommodate a single sword. Buckles and straps indicate it is designed to be worn at the waist. The hardened leather is resistant to daily wear, its dark colour subtly concealing stains like blood and mud.

White leather side scabbard - 350gp

A single piece of leather bleached pure white seamlessly covers this meticulously fashioned scabbard, designed to bear a single sword. Burnished steel reinforcements protect the throat and tip of the scabbard. The positioning of straps attached indicate it should be worn, buckled, at the waist.
