The shield tattoo requires two red inks and one green ink to apply. When touched, the tattoo creates a nearly invisible magical shield around its bearer, protecting him or her from most forms of attack. The shield will dissolve when its bearer moves or performs an aggressive act.
It should be noted that the shield is not an absolute defence - certain attacks can penetrate the shield, and the hammer tattoo will shatter it entirely.
