The importance of Weapons depends on an adventurer's class. Some classes rely heavily on the use of weapons while others have built-in weapons such as a monk's ability to use the hands as fists.
There are different types of weapons, each with varying statistics of damage, to-hit, and speed. Weapons are crafted by those classed with the skill of forging with the use of various commodities.
Below is a list of some non-missile / non-archery weapons. All do cutting physical damage unless otherwise specified:
One-handed Weapons
- Battleaxe
- A battleaxe.
- Broadsword
- Cousin to the longsword.
- Club
- The weapon of the very poor. (blunt damage)
- Dagger
- A small hand weapon. Some may be throwing weapons.
- Dirk
- A long dagger used to stab with. Fairly fast.
- Flail
- Similar stats to a longsword. (blunt damage)
- Handaxe
- A weapon designed to be thrown.
- Javelin
- Strongest of the thrown weapons, it is quite slow.
- Longsword
- The standard sword.
- Mace
- Much like a flail. (blunt damage)
- Morning Star
- Slower than a flail or mace, but with more damage. (blunt physical damage)
- Rapier
- More accurate, but less damage than a longsword.
- Scimitar
- A curving sword favoured by those in the east.
- Shortsword
- A smaller, quicker version of the large swords.
- Spear
- A cheap but effective weapon.
- Trident
- Faster than a longsword, with slightly less damage.
- Whip
- A stylish weapon that is fairly quick.
Two-handed Weapons
- Bardiche
- A polearm, similar to the halberd.
- Bastard Sword
- A long, straight sword.
- Halberd
- A polearm with high damage.
- Quarterstaff
- A longer club, slower, but sharpenable. (blunt damage)
- Warhammer
- A massive two-handed hammer. Slow, with good damage. (blunt damage)
In addiction to the statistics of a weapon, an adventurer's skill level in the Weaponry skill will also have an affect.
