Ascension refers to the process by which a mortal becomes a God. To date, only four such mortals have achieved such an accomplishment. They are:
- Servelan de Vermiis, who was transformed into Eris, Goddess of Chaos, by summoning and merging with the Unnamable Horror.
- Elentari Lokelinde-Danial, who attained Divinity as Ourania, Goddess of the Moon, through the collective Will of the Gods.
- Maran La'Saen, who ascended to become Pentharian, God of Righteousness, in his attempt to awaken the sleeping Deucalion.
- Dawn Illoriel, a denizen, who was resurrected as Mithraea, Goddess of the Sun, for her role in clearing the Chaos Taint.
It is believed that no other mortal (or, perhaps more accurately, no other adventurer) may ever Ascend in such a fashion again.
