Deafness is an aural affliction causing the inability to hear. Those who are deaf cannot typically hear certain modes of communication, such as says and yells.
Colocasia venom causes deafness (and also blindness). Because being deaf confers resistance to certain theft and damage tactics, it can also be counted as a defence. Eating hawthorn berry or calamine crystal gives deafness.
Deafness on oneself is cured by the application of an epidermal salve.
