Hobgoblins are a goblinoid race similar to goblins, but they are much more powerful and about as tall as humans. They are native to the Underrealm, as are all goblinoid races, but they are also found in the lower level of Azdun.
As is the case for all goblinoids, hobgoblins are possessed of a brutish idiocy, but this was not always so. Once, the goblinoids were a noble warrior culture, fighting for honour instead of bloodsport, but all that changed when the Tsol'teth changed them into their present state by altering the goblinoids' spiral ribbons of future creation. The most famous hobgoblin is undoubtedly Blademaster Matic Ridley, Tsol'teth defector and last of the intelligent Underrealm subraces.
