The devotion skill is derived from ancient rites of the Church and is used by members of the priest and paladin class. To use the abilities within the skill of devotion, be it a Rite of Prayer, resurrection, or any other, against the forces of good or to benefit evil puts the individual in danger of excommunication by the Church, effectively losing his or her power.
