Mortal is a catch-all term for non-immortal populations comprising the many sentient races of Achaea and the worlds and planes beyond, as opposed to the Gods and their aspects, those beings which are invested with the essence of their respective divine realms. When mortals die their souls pass into the Soulrealms, sometimes finding life anew outside the Cave. When immortals die, no one knows where they go. The term includes ordinary denizens and even Aldar, but usually refers to adventurers in common parlance.
