Said by some to be merely a hallucination, Bopalopia is an enchanted land not quite located on the Prime Material Plane and is populated by a strange variety of creatures. The cowculator carving talisman is related to the bovine inhabitants of this plane.
History
In the year 313 AF, while Eris was visiting Melpomene in the Black Forest, the Goddess sneezed unexpectedly. Soon after, curious mushrooms with purple and yellow dots were found growing where Her spittle had fallen. Adventurers discovered that eating these mushrooms would transport them to this mysterious land, removing them from contact with the rest of Sapience.
Geography
The main byway is Bopalopia Road, marked by the cheerful inn named, simply, Connie's Place. From the main crossroads, one can head northeast towards Castle Bopalop, wherein the witch Hildabroom plots her takeover of the land from Princess Lispethia.
Southwest of the crossroads, Bopalopia Road leads over a fortified dam patrolled by militant beavers, ending at the Mushroom Forest, home of the laid-back shroomies lead by the RammaLamma and a band of squirrel commandos. To the northwest lie the Jackalope Hills and the Accounting Fields.
Travelling southeast from the centre of Bopalopia one will find Fowl Corners, while further off the main road is the Valley of Laughter and Mud Manor, the home of Sir Piggly and Dame Sowsie.
Tips for Tourists
There are a few perils to be wary of in Bopalopia. The turbulent rapids of Runaway River, which run through Bopalopia into Huggles Lake, can be dangerous for non-swimmers. Lastly, visitors to Bopalopia may, after assisting certain residents, come away with a slight euphoria similar to the effects of smoking cactus weed.
