Inkmilling is one of the many trade skills available to adventurers in Achaea. It allows you to create your own inks and pigments as well as increase the speed of inking tattoos, create custom-dyed letters and posters, create warpaint, and more!
Inkmilling requires a mill, and various reagents. For example, if one was to mill for a red ink, the reagents are one red reagent and one common reagent. You would put a piece of red clay (or a sliver of red scorpion chitin), and a fish scale into your mill and MILL FOR RED.
Mills are available for purchase from various player-owned shops, as well as from Jingo in Delos.
Abilities in Inkmilling
Ability | Description |
Milling | Mill reagents to create inks. |
Put the reagents into your mill and then mill them into ink(s). Note: when making pigments, the reagents need to be in your inventory or rift.
Reagents | Knowledge of the common ingredients. |
Inkmilling reagents are broken up into eight different types as follows: Red Reagents: a lump of red clay a sliver of red scorpion chitin Blue Reagents: an ink bladder a patch of lumic moss Yellow Reagents: a sliver of yellow scorpion chitin Gold Reagents: some flakes of gold Common Reagents: some fish scales Uncommon Reagents: a piece of buffalo horn Scarce Reagents: a shark tooth Rare Reagents: a wyrm tongue For categories that have more than one reagent listed, you may use either of the items in your milling. -
Redink | Create a red ink. |
| |
Fluidity | Mastery of inkmilling increases tattooing speed. |
Inking tattoos is now slightly faster. This is cumulative with the bonus from being transcendent in Tattoos.
Blueink | Create a blue ink. |
| |
Dyeing | Ability to dye white letters with inks. |
You can change the colour of the elegant white letters available at Post Offices around Sapience with an ink of the required colour. This will not work on letters that have already been customised.
Yellowink | Create a yellow ink. |
| |
Warpaint | Create warpaints for people to wear. |
Mix two inks of the specified colour into a vial of water to create a vial of colour warpaint that can be applied to a person's face. Style can be one of swirling, checkered, tribal, or half-faced.
Supplies | Supplies for the Artists amongst us. |
Using an artistry kit and red, yellow or blue pigments, you can create the various supplies an artist requires to prime their works.
Greenink | Create a green ink. |
| |
Calligraphy | Further mastery of inkmilling increases tattooing speed. |
You can now ink tattoos substantially faster. This supercedes the bonus from Fluidity but is cumulative with the bonus from being transcendent in Tattoos.
Purpleink | Create a purple ink. |
| |
Poster | Posters that can be hung in rooms like graffiti. |
After purchasing a blank poster you can - Only by the inkmiller: DYE: dye a white poster with an ink of the required colour. TITLE: give your poster a short title. DESCRIBE: enter the editor to describe what your poster looks like. By anyone: HANG POSTER to display your glorious artwork for all to see. Only one poster may be hung in any given location.
Goldink | Create a gold ink. |
| |
Mastery | Expert milling techniques can produce an extra ink. |
Through your expert milling technique, you will occasionally mill an extra ink per batch.
Blackink | Create a black ink. |
| |
Potency | Absolute mastery of inkmilling gives tattoos more charges. |
Due to your transcendent understanding of inks, any tattoos, with multiple charges, that you ink will have 10 more charges than normal. |
