Arid wasteland comprises most of the land surrounding the northern Vents of Hthrak, which is blighted by scalding geysers that erupt from beneath its surface. The heat released by the vents is largely contained within a V-shaped mountain range to the south called Anake's Elbow, enabling the Istar Jungle to thrive therein. Despite the harshness of the landscape, a few beasts have adapted to the area: the feline dirangi and the winged ozhera. The especially courageous adventurer can find Jeramun, the Flame of the World within its depths.

Some notable dirangi include Geltar, Patriarch of the Dirangi.
