"Try again," was my dad's reply
as I fell feebly from the sky.
So try I did, for hours on end,
but I failed again, to ascend.
I beat my wings with all my might,
but reach the clouds? I couldn't quite.
My wings were weak and very tired
and I could not do what I desired!
Did I have a flimsy physique?
Or was there some special technique?
Frustration burned inside of me;
I screamed and wailed like a banshee.
With one angry beat of my wings
I felt bliss, and all that it brings.
Wind whipped and lashed at my cheeks
as I passed snowy Vashnar peaks.
Moisture gathered around my face
as my wings kept a steady pace.
I flew east and over Shallam,
the city seemed serene and calm.
I flew down and gently landed,
it all felt so surreal and candid.
Where am I? I raised my head,
I found myself within my bed.
I'm still just a Horkval, it seems.
Silly me and my crazy dreams...
Maybe someday I'll be an Atavian.
