I draw from words of times gone by

and pass their lessons on to you:

When strife arises, mortals grow

to overcome adversity;

in straying from the tried and true

we break through old, ingrained plateaus.

Eternal truth, never flawed,

a teaching of the Smiling God.

Though growth is naught without a goal

(the Battlelord taught me as much),

a contest won with skill and style

can serve an even greater whole.

Let future generations judge

your tale if it should be worthwhile;

Tell a story that resounds,

inspiring dreams of battlegrounds.

Despite this, mortals often nest

and relish petty victories won.

Do not neglect the natural way:

eternal struggle, little rest,

and work that's never truly done.

Stride ever forth and do not stray,

for competition lines the road

that leads to greatness's abode.
