Demise of great Lord Caspian is tale Gnaash know too well.
For benefit of educate, Gnaash would like to tell.
May be no body like to read in trollish all the time,
So Gnaash scribble in Achaean, and even try to rhyme.
Smell of fish was strong that day, like wave of stinking air
That sweep across the eastern beach with scent of rot, despair.
Storm be pounding stone to sand for many days in row,
Hurricane and tidal wave and gale from North was blow.
In each of coastal villages the citizen concern
For what the rising seas could mean. No easy to discern.
Then far, far off - in eye of storm - some keen of sight observe
Was little isle of unknown make float gently in the surf.
Upon the drifting refuge sit the mighty Ocean Lord
Caspian, the Wavemaster. Around the whitecaps roared.
Before Him on the island, mighty Trident of the Seas
Was fix within His focused gaze, but slightly out of reach.
Lord Caspian, like mariner that see too many winter,
Look weather-beat and feeble. His noble visage splintered.
No word or sign could stir Him from His silent reverie.
As if alone upon His throne, the Lord sit passively.
First gather mortal onlooker who wade across the brine;
Then the Garden host arrive in the manner of Divine;
And last, the Caspeid Notia with Borak at her side,
Come to snicker at their Master, fairly swelled with foolish pride.
The gentle spirit Eusia, Caspeid of the East,
Get push aside and silenced as the gathering increase.
Sefyr, faithful Sefyr, thrown by Borak out to sea
When he rush to greet his Master, mind in dazed custody.
Then Notia, the grasper, start to speak in measured voice.
Tell mortal that to aid the Lord may only have one choice:
Enormous pearl of [blue and green] that rest beneath the wave,
Heart of the Sea is called, just might the Sea Lord save.
Mortals travel to Tasur'ke seeking Elder man's insight
Into hiding place of giant sphere of opalescent light.
But Notia concern was feign behind a smirk of mischief
And giant pearl no help for Lord, much to mortal grief.
Then with trumpet fanfare blast aloud over the blue
A tall and noble triton strode proudly into view.
Aeolos was name, determined look was on his brow;
Surprised by mortal sentiment, old hatreds disavow.
These Landwalker appear to care for Caspian regard,
These not the greedy pirates hurling curse from ship lanyard,
Or Imperial grook raiders bringing blood to placid seas.
Aeolos stand by patiently and listen to their pleas.
All eyes then turn and face expanse of blue and briney verge
As from the water, shield in hand, another man emerge.
Was different from the mortal who had flock to see the sight,
Faintly glow with power, countenance held inner light.
The man, Neraeos, nod his head in Aeolos' direction
And turn his gaze to Caspian with look of deep reflection.
This, the Sea Lord son and heir, had live beneath the surface
Of the wine-dark waters, now emerge for greater purpose.
With single-mind resolve he grab the trident from the sand
To deliver ancient weapon to his Father outstretch hand.
No sooner had Neraeos finger close around the grip,
The stormy sea grow louder as high winds begin to whip
Around the island, clear the heavy clouds away.
A beam of light shine down on him, piercing through the grey.
Lord Caspian ancient body turn to dust, catch a breeze,
And disappear in ocean mist above the rumbling seas.
A snowy owl, like tiny cloud appear in sky above,
Winging through the firmament from some distant grove
To appear before the crowd as sign of changing times.
Then chorus break forth from above in voices raised in song,
A welcome strain of music from the Garden's holy throng.
In the midst of sand and mist and light as choirs ring
Stand the Lord Neraeos, now the mighty Ocean King.
And so befall one autumn day, in waters of the East,
From Ocean Father pass to Son dominion of the Seas.
