In Ashtan city, where I used to dwell,
A beautiful Siren called Andruin, the people loved so well,
A man named Flair courted her and from her family took her away,
But alas in their bed, he would not stay.

I wish, I wish, but I wish in vain,
I wish Andruin was alive again,
But alive again, she can never be,
Until Eris' apples grow on Epicurus' fig tree.

She went to the back of the Fire and Spice, saying she was going to bed,
And calling to the sailor, she said,
Bring me a chair till I sit down,
And a bit of ink as I have a few words that I must write down.

I wish, I wish but I wish in vain,
I wish Andruin was alive again,
But alive again, she can never be,
Until Eris's apples grow on Epicurus' fig tree.

Flair arrived home drunk and the door he broke,
And he found her hanging from a rope,
He took a knife and cut her down,
And in her robes these words he found.

Oh Flair, you have betrayed and disgraced me,
Make my grave clean, wide and deep,
Put a stone of marble at my head and feet,
And in the middle put a stone dove,
So the world may know, I died of love.

He crumpled the note and threw it away,
Running to his father, he said I'll survive this like any day,
The people heard that he would not honour her wishes and they felt sad,
However it was not long before they forgot the crimes of this cad.

I wish, I wish, but I wish in vain,
I wish Andruin was alive again ,
But alive again, she can never be,
Until Eris's apples grow on Epicurus' fig tree.
