(Inspired by the statue of Maran La'Saen in Shallam and performed on the occasion of the 300th Anniversary of Lord Pentharian's ascension.) "Speak always with truth, justice, and mercy" The powerful voice of our High Priest. Seldom clothed in Basilican shadows, Waxen pale, he faces east. Beneath its soaring spires and angels, Creation's marble Seraph stands Beside the Zaphar river wild, A gleaming mace proud in his hands. Falling on his gold-veined cheek, A single braid, carved unique. His eyes with grace and wisdom speak, "Noble Vizier, your Virtue keep." Patriarch of Angels serene, Two score years, he served the Guild. How could this marble, fair figurine Begin to hold his wisdom distilled. Sultan gracious, Shallam united, Crown of Ithmia's ally became. Jewel of the East, you shone not blighted By turmoil and treason, under his name. Sahart's legacy, you'll uphold, The northern heretics will fold, Darkness and Evil gain no foothold, This La'Saen's legacy, lasting two-fold. Such greatness could not linger here, The Prime Material Plane too small. His destiny, grasped with no fear: To Lord Deucalion went his bold call. On churning clouds, Maran's spirit rises. No sermon but this could teach us why Divine limitations defy sacrifices. Face twisting in sorrow, His tears fill the sky. A final gasp, the priest's death betrays, Below that moon's malevolent phase Attracting One's benevolent gaze Whose ears received the sound, in praise. Boiling earth and seas, then peace. Balance and Twilight shed Their essence To one for whom life had to cease. Ourania blessed him with iridescence; The ultimate favour, no truer be. Creation summed could not match the roar That heralded fair the Logos' decree: Deserving, He'll rouse as Maran no more. Though this Divine is born of none, The Father of Lies will call Him son. Thus with His golden reign begun, Pentharian, the Righteous, arise! Imbued with mortal memories clear, Bathed in soft Cerulean light, The fire of goodness within His stare, The essence of Valour within mortal sight. Hearest Thee the sound of rejoicing? Elysia welcomes their new Father home, Praises and worship each paladin voicing, Prayers for His ears in every priest's tome. Forget we not his legacy mortal, For Honour lives in each Shallam heart. This statue graven is Maran immortal; Immortal Pentharian, his fate from the start.
