Blessed Father,
Are you well
And in your slumber,
Can you tell?
How much we miss thee,
Your simple smiles
As we continue,
Across the miles.
Blessed father,
Do you know
Just how far,
Your children can go?
Without your arms
To hold us tight
We try to go onwards
Fight the good fight.
But art is much harder
The words are all wrong
The sculptures are crooked
And the words have no song.
The tears remain fallen
Just where they fell
The paper strewn crooked
Only time can tell
If the pen will write once more
The brush will stroke straight
The statue look beautiful
The song sound great.
Blessed Father
Are you well
And in your slumber
Can you tell?
Just how much we miss,
Your snuggles and grins
And how we've forgotten
How the story begins.
