The Bearded Siren

There is a Lady I'd like to address,

that invades a man's slumber with a gentle caress.

She makes her appearance time and time again:

She is "The Beautiful Bearded Siren".

A beautiful Spectre of nightmares and dreams,

the collaborated creation of Valnurana and Selene!

Beautiful, graceful, and lovely is she;

no person stands a chance when her focus is he!

She comes in our dreams in the dead of night,

singing her song till the morning light

of love and of beauty and of things in between,

and of seeing the things that to us are unseen.

She targets men with a predator's mind,

whose purpose is only the sensual kind.

They take women to bed, eager for their prize,

waking up to a diff'rent face each sunrise.

Like some of the Legends we've all heard about,

and the truth to their existence we do so doubt,

she, too, had a purpose to her:

to open our minds, like a ball of myrrh.

With aura of Angels,

and looks of Selene,

and voice of a songbird in early Aeguary Spring,

she sings:

"Listen, listen, my darling, to me.

I have some piece of advice for thee.

Look at mine eyes, look at my lips,

look at my thighs and look at mine hips.

Listen to the voice that calls to you,

a dream you are positive you once knew.

Look past the physical pleasures of flesh.

What lies underneath is sworn to refresh.

Beauty is only as deep as the skin?

Without love of a heart to grace yourself in,

your life is as good as the beard on my chin."

And it left them wondering, the souls that she chose,

so much that it left them in solemn repose.

They sat and asked questions of what and of why,

from the moment she vanished with a soft goodbye.

The beard on her chin? None! So what did it mean?

'Twas an invisible element that they had not seen!

What be underneath is sworn to refresh.

Beauty is only as deep as the skin?

Without love of a heart to grace yourself in,

your life is as good as the beard on my chin."

Another night spent with the lady Siren,

and she sang her lovely song again, to them.

And the men continue to question it so,

driving themselves into miserable woe.

The beard on her chin? None! So what did it mean?

'Twas an invisible element that they had not seen!

And the cycle continues until he doth see,

until from his old mindset he is free.

What is, you ask, the secret of her song?

Ladies, we knew the answer all along.

What be underneath is sworn to refresh.

Beauty is only as deep as the skin?

Without love of a heart to grace yourself in,

your life is as good as the beard on my chin."

And when the men finally did see,

the message and it's vital key,

she'd come again, invading their dreams,

and they'd see a sight that would cause them to scream.

As the lady sings her song,

there's an element oh so wrong!

Growing from her chin, hairy and strong,

is a beard; fuzzy, brown, and very long.

And they realise it had been there all along!

But her feet weren't course or calloused or bruised,

and the beauty in her face wasn't SO much diffused.

And her figure wasn't lumpy, or clumpy, or big,

and she certainly didn't look like a pig.

Still the same beauty from nights before,

only one little hindrance, one added touch more.

And only a truly reformed man can see,

that even with beard, her inner beauty is past a normal degree.

And that is the secret the Siren sings,

and that is the beauty of life she brings:

When you look for the chest and the backside and face,

and many diff'rent pretty ladies you do chase,

you miss out on the quality of life.

To love is to live without sorrow or strife.

To love is to live without misery.

To love is to be loved to the highest degree.

To love is to be blessed with Heavenly Grace.

To love is to transcend to a higher place.

What be underneath is sworn to refresh.

Beauty is only as deep as the skin?

Without love of a heart to grace yourself in,

your life is as good as the beard on my chin."

See past the glamour and appeal of looks,

embrace the lifestyle of love-story books.

Beauty is something found only within,

and love is the better choice, not sin.

A life without love is just no life at all...

and with it,

searching for it,

hoping for it,

finding it...

You will stand tall.
