Tick tock


Gears clicked and clock parts whined, as the mechanical man stirred from dreams of dawn and dusk. He felt a shuddering in the Isle as a part of its tower began to spin. It fell silent for a time, then mechanisms sprang to life as Tick began to feel what mortals would call 'excitement'. Its dream would finally come true.


Thrub dub


Machines churned and blades flashed, as the upper hallways were filled with the sound of 'work'. Artificial bodies were crushed and sliced, as they were processed in the gut of the machine. The man above heard all these and smiled. Dingis knew that his answers would be answered after all these years.


Tick tock


His mechanical eyes took in the sight of a newcomer. His hollow voice began to plead. His hopes began to rise, like the sun he had dreamed about. The newcomer nodded, and motioned him to follow. With heavy steps Tick left, anticipation at hand.


Thrub dub


His eyes opened wide, as the newcomer spoke. The nixie gave in, to guide him to her brother. The newcomer poured dust into the essence of dolls. A strengthening of memory, the brother had said, to converse with his creator in crystal clear hue.


Tick tock


Its eyes beheld paradise, as the sun rose up high. Tick could have sworn that he was going to cry. Producing a magnet from his gear-filled body, he told his new 'friend' that he needed it no more.


Thrub dub


Reading the ink-stained story of his forgotten sin of old, Dingis wept bitter tears as he remembered his crime. Stepping to the window, and praying for forgiveness, he leapt from the tower, to join his lost father.
