Branding adventurers formally as enemies makes them susceptible to various abilities, totems, and/or angry loyal creatures or denizens, amongst other things, belonging to either the adventurer or organisation that has done the enemying.
A token of notoriety, a rare artefact sold at auction in 564 AF, allows its owner five additional slots on his or her list of enemies.
