Bayar, a wizened herdsman is an ancient man with a leathery face and azure eyes. He spends most of the time in his watchpost in the southwestern corner of the Chaghut encampment where he watches over the tribe's herds of yak, sheep, and goats. His primary concern is seeing that all creatures in the encampment are branded to avoid theft from Khovsgol and his men.
