The Great Grey Owl was the Divine symbol of Maya, the Great Mother. Its symbolism is reminiscent of the Snowy Owl, the favoured animal of Achaea's past Creator, Sarapis, from Whom Her role as Supreme Creatrix was passed. Rumour has it that Maya sometimes appeared to mortals in the form of Her owl, seeing through its eyes.
