Two questions: Are all the asterisk-ed abilities in HELP SEAFARING gained at the same time when you get "shipmeld"? Can you be "between" ranks, i.e. not use the full number of SPPs needed to reach to next rank? :An additional question. Clementius mentioned that if you spend your SPPs on Command, enough to get to rank V, you wouldn't have enough to reach V in any other specialisation.
