Draped in robes of charcoal, this ancient woman has a face like a wrinkled plum and a toothless grin, but her piercing black eyes remain youthful and merry beneath the hem of her dark veil. She is seated upon a thick mat of woven grasses, surrounded by bowls and pots of various powders and pastes. Her palms and fingertips are completely covered with the distinctive reddish-orange stain of henna, while the back of her hands is artfully decorated in a series of dots and sinuous lines. --Krypton 01:26, 9 October 2007 (GMT)
