General Azzul was a Shallamese military leader in the distant past. He guarded the city of Shallam and its people during the darkest days of the unknown conflict referred to only as the "plains wars."
Azzul Square in Shallam is named in the general's honour. To this day, a gilt bronze statue bearing his likeness stands at the center of the square.
