As the troll senate, led by Senator Schlastan, began to usurp his power in an effort to preserve the empire's integrity, Emperor Rakmarkha began to dabble in the occult. After contacting an enigmatic entity he referred to as the Unborn Goddess, the Emperor discovered how to summon a great demon Lord Taug. Unable to control Taug, Rakmarkha spiraled further and further into the depths of insanity, earning him the dubious title "The Mad Emperor."
