Pineal glands are endocrine glands located near the centre of the brain and play a major role in the sexual development of children. Additionally, the psychotropic properties of the gland, available once processed, are highly valued by scholars of the Occult. Servelan de Vermiis, founder of the Loving Hearts Orphanage in Ashtan, found them to be a precious commodity which is why the orphanage still stands and accepts orphans to this day.
