Aquinas was a Prelate and Priest within the Church during the outset of the third cycle of the Ashtan-Shallam Wars (circa 1000 BF). He journeyed to King Martin the Wise in Ashtan and convinced the monarch to call off his oceangoing assault of Shallam. This act is widely considered the first step in the Church's slow rise as a mediating force.
