' Hurry, Glam. Run. '


I ran as if my life were on the line. I ran out of Hashan and into the darkness of the forests. I looked around every corner, searching frantically in the middle of the night. 


'Where are you? '


'HELP. ME. ' 


'How?! I don't even know where you are! '


'I told you to learn Survival, when will you start listening?! ' 


'Just tell me whe- '


Before I could even finished telling Lace, I ran into something. 


"Ow!" Under the moonlight, I saw a young girl knocked down in front of me. Her green eyes looked around, searching for the person who knocked her down. "Who goes there?" 


She was wearing a simple tunic and leggings, so she must had been a Newbie. As I was shrouded and in a hurry, I walked away from the girl. After a few feet, she said "Aren't you going to apologise or something? That is very rude." 


I looked back at the girl who had pulled herself up. Her eyes still scanning the forest around her. I stopped dead in my track and deshrouded myself. "Greetings, stranger. I apologise for knocking you prone. I believe that was my fault, but I am in a rather hurry." 


I turned back and sprinted westward. However, she followed me. She said, "So, what are you doing in the middle of the Aalen? Not to mention, in the middle of the night too."


Not wanting to answer that, I walked around and lost her. After a while, I sent a tell to my sister. ' Lace, are you there? Are you okay? What is going on? More importantly, where are you?! '


For a while, she didn't answer. I had no idea where she was but she had said that she was in danger. Being citiless and houseless, she had no one else to help her out so I had to save her. I have to at least find her, I thought, But how do that without Farseeing? I was looking around, looking for an idea, when I spotted a bunch of purple coneflowers. That's it, Echinacea roots! 


I quickly gathered some of the roots and ate one bit of roots; It was awful. Afterwards, I quickly closed my eyes, cleared my mind of all thoughts, and tried to detect Lace's presence among others in the realms. I could feel her presence somewhere west but there's something unusual about it. Just as I opened my eyes, I saw a pair of violet and I jumped back. 


"WHAT THE-"


"Shhhh, it's me." I looked at the girl in front of me. She's the Newbie I knocked earlier but her eyes had changed from green to violet. 


"Your eyes. They're not-" 


"Not green, yes. I'm an eye-shifter."


"A what?" 


"An eye-shifter. Someone whose eye colours change along with their emotions. Also, my name's Violet. Do you need help finding someone?"


"No, I got it. She's around the corner."


I quickly walk westward, yet Violet had decided to follow me. I kept going west, feeling my sister closer and closer. I finally saw my sister lying on the ground. Her long black hair covering her face, but I could see her eyes staring blank into the distance. I kneeled down and checked her pulse. She's still alive, I thought, But if she's only unconscious, why does she look so stiff?


I heard Violet screamed beside me and I saw a giant snake-like shadow upon me. I turned my head to her and she went rigid, she'd been petrified. I closed my eyes and concentrated, imagining that a big grey cupboard were in front of me and reached out. I took a bayberry out of my rift and ate it instantly. I opened my eyes, yet I was blind. I touched the mindseye tattoo on my left arm and felt the aura of the beast. 


I reached out my hand before the forest basilisk, who screamed and doubled over in agony. However, the basilisk battered me with an overhead blow and I was knocked slightly off balance. Raising my hand into the air, I summoned horrific visions to torment the beast. I kept reaching out my hand before it, the next thing I know was the beast dropped dead. Afterwards, I took out a hazelwood vial from my pack and apply an epidermal salve to my eyes. I blinked and regained my vision.


I scanned my surrounding, my eyes fell on the giant snake. I've just slained a forest basilisk. I turned my attention back to Violet and Lace who were both petrified. I imagined my rift once more and took out some bloodroot leaves. I put some in their mouths and they quickly swallowed it. Lace stood up and grunted. "Dear Gods, that was terrible! I didn't know you're capable of killing a basilisk, Glam." 


"Honestly, sis, neither do I." 


Violet shuddered and said, "I cannot unsee that, you owe me that much." 


I looked at Violet and crossed my arms. "Really? I just saved you from a basilisk and unpetrify you and I'm the one who owes you? I didn't even ask you to come along!" 


Lace looked at me and Violet in turn before saying, "Who is she, is this your girlfriend?" 


I rolled my eyes at her. "No, Lace. This is Violet. Vi, this is Glace, my half sister. Though she prefers Lace." 


Vi bowed respectfully at Lace and said, "Nice to meet you, Glace. I mean, Lace." 


Lace beams broadfully at me and said, "You know, I think we'd make a great team. What if we make a group?" 


Vi smiles and happily said, "That's a great idea! We should make up a name though. What about Moonfull Fangs?" 


"Woah, woah, do I even have a say on this? We just met and also, I just saved your lives." 


"I don't know, what about Foggy Venoms?" 


"No, it's too abstract. What about-" 


"Guys, stop!" 


"Fine, Glam, you get a word. But only a word." 


Knowing my sister wouldn't let me have a vote on making this group, I finally gave in. "What about 'Falcon'? It is my favourite animal." 


Lace scratched her head, looking for an idea. "Falcon... Falcon..." 


Vi's face brightened and she snapped her finger. "I know! Night Falcon!"


Lace beams broadly. "That's a great group name! We shall name ourselves the Night Falcons. What do you say, brother?" 


I half smiled and said, "Sure." But the next thing I know, I was unconscious. Every inch of my body felt the cold embracing me and I couldn't see a thing. I heard Lace and Violet screaming for help, carrying me out of the forest and into a village. They asked for help and the healers quickly checked me. They shook their heads and Lace screamed while Violet's eyes widen in disbelief.


I'm already dead.
