Gours

The gour is a large bovine with very picky eating habits. Originally from Vertan, a number of them were brought over during the Vertani War. A few can now be found in Tir Murann under the care of Dynas, although they often break out and need to be lured back. They can also be found roaming in the Dakhota Hills.

Gours display a certain degree of sexual dimorphism. Females tend to be covered in a coat of short, dark grey fur that leaves the leathery, pale grey skin of their bellies bare. Males, on the other hand, are covered in long, shaggy black fur; their skin, as displayed on their bare undersides, is a lighter off-white colour. Both males and females are possessed of long, thick legs terminating in slick black hooves, and each mature gour sprouts a single deadly horn from its forehead. Adult gours weigh in at an average of 3750 pounds, regardless of gender.
