The Zaphar Isle is a sandy, rocky place in the Southern Sea. The island is actually two islands, connected by a wooden bridge. At high tide, the bridge is completely covered by the sea. Passage between the northern and southern islands is only possible twice a day during low tides. The southern island is inhabited by fishermen, women, and carefree children. All of these seem to speak with a pronounced dialect, making their speech difficult to understand. At the center of the rocky island, within a gorge, rests the village. There is also a small chapel containing an old version of the Holy Codex, and a wooden altar.

The northern island is where the villagers travel to collect fresh water. However, this part of the Zaphar Isle is crawling with giant, aggressive scorpions. Nearly equal in size to its southern counterpart, the northern island is also rocky and dry, but must also possess some source of potable water. The scorpions are to be approached with great caution, as their rapid stings deliver several deadly venoms.

Zaphar Isle was discovered in the year 461 AF, shortly after the advent of sailing, by captain Gnaash and his crew Caleth and Caz while sailing The Aeolos.
