The Lady of Sleep and Dreams, Valnurana, is one of the Elder Gods created at the dawn of time. Sleep is a time of healing while dreaming runs the gamut of pleasant fantasy to brutal scenes of carnage. It is said that all dreams originate from Her and their meaning is known only to those who seek answers within themselves.

At the close of the War of Humanity, Valnurana was said to be distraught at the deaths of the unicorns which defended the Gods upon Nishnatoba. Their souls were passed into Her care by Thoth, that they might run free in the Dreamrealm.

Valnurana was roused and returned to mortal perception during the Jade Icon Saga. Since that time She has been pivotal in many events within the realm, including the War of the Divine Child, the birth of Selene, as well as suffering at the hands of Sartan prior to His downfall at the hands of the Divine Alliance.

During the fateful time of Eternal Night, when Sapience was shrouded in darkness, Valnurana emerged once more to reclaim the souls of the unicorns, who had broken from the Dreamrealm to roam Sapience in the form of stampeding nightmares.

The four angels of dreams - Alp, Cur, Dibbuk, and Erinyes - are Her heralds within the world, themselves the four nightmare spirits who were imprisoned within the Jade Icon. Her favoured symbols are the orchid and the black swan, both tied to a cult in the early history of Valnurana's worshippers, the Obeah Ecstasia, upon which Her present-day Divine Order is founded.
