A timequake is the result of a force, whether divine or otherwise, that changes the events of the past. Specifically, it refers to a temporal shockwave that ripples forward into the present and future in the wake of forceful meddling in the affairs of former years. The first timequake happened around the year 298 AF when Eris sent Her consciousness through time in an attempt to contact Emperor Rakmarkha III of Kasmarkin. As events that ripple the very fabric of space-time itself, timequakes often have tremendous consequences for the entirety of Achaea. The timequake of 298, for example, resulted in the possibility of raising Kasmarkin by mortal hands, as well as the 700-year displacement of Silvestri Carnivalis.
