IMPLANTED totems '''do not''' operate during the CTF.
STANDING totems '''do''' operate during the CTF.
What's the difference between implanted and standing totems? And does this necessitate a rewording of "Runewardens, Shamans, and Serpents from various cities engage in a miniature war of their own, implanting totems and splicing at strategic locations"?
Implanted totems: those things stuck in the ground, you see them a lot in cities and other such org areas. I hear they take half an hour to implant, and a decent amount of time to uproot.
Standing totems: things rune users hold in their hands. You see adventurers straining to hold them upright in a room. The rune users can just stop propping them up.
They work similarly; walk into the room if the totem is upright and tuned against you, and you'll get hit by the runes on the thing. --[[User:Kunama|Kunama]] 02:47, 19 May 2008 (GMT)

From HELP CTF:
IMPLANTED totems do not operate during the CTF.
STANDING totems do operate during the CTF.

--Kunama 02:47, 19 May 2008 (GMT)

That makes the bit about "totem wars" false then, right, since implanting totems ahead of time is of no help? --Slurpz 09:22, 19 May 2008 (GMT)
Wouldn't that be irrelevant since whether they help or not is an IC manifestation? I guess the real question would be, for our purposes: do or have the metaphorical "wars" actually occurred? Asara 13:17, 19 May 2008 (GMT)
