The language someone speaks is their method of communicating with others. In addition to city and racial languages, some denizens may have their own language which may or may not be possible for adventurers to learn.

All adventurers begin life in Achaea speaking their racial language and the common language: Achaean. Upon joining or becoming allied to a city, one will magically both speak and comprehend that city's language. There are several language tutors throughout the land who will teach you to speak the language of another race, provided you have the lessons and gold to do so.
