This page is about the region. For other uses, please see Battlesite of Mourning Pass (disambiguation)

The pages of history set the scene of the Battlesite of Mourning Pass as one of great triumph and tragedy. Centuries ago, during the Wars of Succession, Castomira Brangwin's Royal Elites of Seleucar were taken by surprise as Ashtani forces poured through a portal en masse, winning a dominant victory for Catarin deSangre.

Today, the site still lies at the base of the Pass of Shadow's Mourning, but falls prey to the ever-encroaching Atrousian Jungle. It is rumoured that the ghosts of fallen warriors from both sides of the battle still roam the field, awaiting an end to the battle that has already left them behind.

Inhabitants

The restless spirits which still haunt the battleground include:

Royal Elites of Seleucar:

  • Knight Commander Lord Ethran Rani
  • Commander Farista Errikale
  • Commander Malrian Kyra
  • Dishevelled young squires
  • Sturdy knights and proud knight errants

Lost soldiers of Ashtan include:

  • Battered Ashtani lieutenants
  • Bedraggled Ashtani foot soldiers

Flora and Fauna

The battlesite is all of jungle-choked grasslands upon the western foothills of the Vasnari Mountains. Fern carpets and a panoply of deciduous canopy provide dubious cover amidst the spectral carnage. Below the ghostly grave an army of a different type nests in hidden tunnels: a colony of empathic sylphid beetles can be found harvesting the root-tangled environment.
