Originally a symbol of pan-Sapient goodwill, the Altar of Peace was a ceremonial structure of grey stone first erected in Shallam in 230 AF by followers of Oneiros. Hewn from the walls of the temple of the God of Peace, it was located north of Khafre fountain, near the house of Averroes. The Order of Peace planned to build an identical one in Ashtan but the northern city demurred, citing ideological reasons. An identical altar was built in Hashan shortly afterwards.

No altars now exist. Shallam itself was destroyed in the 7th century AF while the Hashan altar was restyled as the Altar of the Unblinking Eye during Hashan's House Renaissance.
