Oh river Zaphar, hear my whispered lament,

The Tsol'aa priest, our old friend, has fallen...

His trident, shaft not broken, but sadly bent,

There in the river, amidst the grieving reeds...

Emerged from the deepest, darkest abyss,

A monstrous beast has ripped him in twain...

There was no cry of warning, naught was amiss,

As Nestor to his duties tended, loyal and strong...

At the bloodied bank, my darkened eyes dwell,

Never more, Nestor's violet eyes meet mine ...

A brooch of bronze, crafted like a seashell,

Rests on the riverbed, a shell amongst others...

A golden chain dropped, ends lost in the moss,

The pendant missing, a hippocampus it was...

I kneel at thy bend, my heart heavy with loss,

Oh river Zaphar, hear my whispered lament..
