Endless Battle

Black as night, through the misty red,
The gates of malice, where few dare tread.
The clatter of hooves echoes in the gloom,
But these horses bear not the servants of doom.

With a cry for Justice, the riders charge!
Paladins and Priests, one force so large.
Through ominous liches, shining blades slash,
Wraiths crumble beneath the maces' crash.

Evil burns, the white Knights ride away,
Angels find refuge for Priests, who pray.

Southeast from the town of Delos' land,
The pearly gates of righteousness stand.
Gravel crunches, footsteps in the night,
But they are not those of heroes of Light.

For Shaitan, for Apollyon, the roars ring out!
Maldaathi, Apostates lunge forth with a shout.
Guardian Djinn, sliced by swords so cruel,
Withered at the touch are monks of the Jewel.

With a smirk, the Infernals march out of sight,
Apostates, blackwinded, join the shadow of night.

Morning's breath spreads forth the new day.
Mhaldor and Shallam view death and decay.
Bones on the roads, splintered like wood,
Ashes and soot, where the guards once stood.

The dark cloak of night falls over the land,
Again, warriors gather, weapons in hand.
Thoughts wander forth to the battle once more,
And so continues the eternal war.

Forces of Evil and Good, led by fate,
Each seeks triumph, whether in love or hate.
Endlessly opposed, they never shall join,
Such are the two sides of the Sapient coin.
